These unique Acanthastrea, recently reclassified to Micromussa, are grown from tank spawned corals. After the eggs and sperm come together in the open water they form coral larvae. These larvae settle onto the honeycomb looking rock and form a coral polyp. These honeycomb rocks can contain mutiple settled larvae of differenet color like seen on this piece. Once the polyps get large enough they are offered for sale.
